Here's my review of these from a few months ago. I'm not a fan of Maltby per se, I just think that, if I do my job the club will do its job. And these do. And I see guys I play with all the time, with sets that cost thousands of $ that can't hit them any better than I do. And I don't care what the number on the bottom of the club says: if I have a 150 yard shot, I hit my 150 yard club...

Why pay more?
For the life of me I don't understand why people pay $3000+ dollars for a set of irons. Unless it just makes them feel 'good'. Which is okay. However, you can't buy a golf game.
I only gave them a 4 because: while these may not last as long as a $3k+ set, I can buy 10 SETS! [of these].
For reference I'm 60, light build, and have a 9.3 index [now an 8.4, after a few great short-game rounds] (no gimmie's, rolling the ball, or mulligans). 77-85 is a typical score depending on the course; and my driving. And putting, both of which have been iffy lately - the two most important clubs for sure. I carry this 7-iron 165 yards on a typical hot summer day, less in the winter. All are 1/2 [inch] shorter than standard.
I compared them to a friends new irons, the one's with the "goo" in them. Center hits with both feel good, really good with these. Off-center hits felt harsh with his (TaylorMade TP-somethings think?). With these you can feel the off-center contact but it doesn't feel nearly as harsh.
I ordered the "Pak" with the Score shafts but I did change the 5-3 iron shafts out for stiff graphite ones as an experiment. Wasn't really necessary as I have hybrids to replace the 4-3 irons.
[some people say these flight the ball higher. If I'm swinging well I don't notice this, but am unable to compare with every club out there of course. I think it's more about the shaft anyway]
