Sarnella For those on medicare - it does NOT cover hearing aids.?????
Your supplement may or may not,
Medicare will....if you go through the proper channels and are in need of a cochlear implant. Other types are not covered.
I've had hearing aids for over 30 yrs.. Brothers, daughter, cousins, nephew, grandkids of mine have the problem also. Mainly a hereditary thing with my Dad's side of the family having several members that were completely deaf. (growing up, any family gathering was a riot, sitting around watching our Dad and Uncles talking....without ever uttering a word...lip reading. no sign language! Their arguments were the best.😲)
I got to the point several yrs. ago that I had to go with the behind-the-ear models, which are much more powerful than the in-the ear types. The set I have now(from Audibel) was custom made, super juiced, just for me, and it is the end of the line on power. The next step for me would be the implant, which 1 of my nephews has had for most of his life. If these crap out on me, I'm done for, as the cost of any type in-the-ear model is around $6K. No can do.
So...please type loudly from now on.😆
edit: There are hearing aids that can be controlled by certain I Phones, to the point that they will let you talk on the phone, and no one but you can hear the conversation from the other party as the sounds only come through the hearing aids. Mucho, mucho dinero!!
