sdandrea1 Update. Playing these now, but only 2 rounds in. Loving them. We'll see what happens. I have hit a number of pretty good shots with the 5i and 6i, surprising me. But like Tinker says, a toed or fat iron shot with any iron is still gonna miss the green. They look good indabag!
They look nice. I see the Tricept F1 Forged is no longer available from GW. The PTM Forged and MMB-17 seems to have filled that slot at GW. GW says...."this iron in the playing position. The unique shape of the muscle design places the mass of the head in the optimal position for each club number in the set. The mass is positioned for more stability in the mid and long irons, usually the least forgiving irons in any set. This positioning makes the Tricept Forged long irons more forgiving than traditional forged blade style irons." https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/MaltbyIrons.pdf
In my experience with the Alpha V2-MB I find for the most part better players will enjoy the head size and work ability. Most mid to high hdcp players will find them a bit hard to play. I have a new 8i and PW that I may shaft up to test myself. I love the 304SS that the V2-MB's are manufactured from.
I do think that the more you play with smaller sized heads you find you will "aim small miss small". I do think the more forgiveness and larger sized heads make us lazier. I myself find this true.
