darpar These style putters actually work pretty good for easily lining up putts! I started out with a "Bat" putter Didn't really like the shape of the original so I did little whittlin',weldin',machinin' etc..... One (red one) stayed somewhat original just added more weight (about 60grms.) to the back of the face The copper one got a total makeover, new neck, more toe weight and a little different shape. Started with the layout by moving the neck closer to the center Machined the neck out of a piece of re-bar Added some weight to the toe/sole side While welding the void where the old neck was, things got a little tooooo HOT and it nuke the old face insert. Had to pour a new one with some black onyx resin Machined that down with my homemade router mill....don't laugh it f'n works! The finished putters, red one is heavier at 465grms head weigh, copper one is a little lighter And this is what I've been doing when it's been too damn cold to go golfing, actually snowed yesterday!
darpar I suppose it could if you made the lie angle a little more upright, the copper one is 75°. The least you can legally go is 80° lie angle.
darpar meagain It's on ball bearing tracks, the wood panels just stops the chips from flying all over the place.
meagain I take it that you make very light cuts with it. Considering the small vice and free moving router?
darpar meagain Very light,it's mostly just shaving down the resin....it's a lot more stable than the pic shows.
kelco9 This is very cool. I would love to find a standup putter for my wife. She goes through this little dance before he putting whereby she steps behind her putter, lines up, and the step back into her putting position. I just don't have the heart to tell her that every time she does this, she adjusts the face as she steps back into the putting position. This would solve the problem.
darpar kelco9 Here's a couple of stand up putters that won't break the bank: https://golf.squaretosquaremethod.com/get/s7k-putter/?utm_source=sq-internal&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=sq-internal-s7k-direct&utm_content=sq-internal-s7k-direct-cant-believe>_uid=742839007>_cid=7622012 https://golfersrx.com/bat-putter-special/
kelco9 darpar Thanks for sending this. The S7K isn't as nice as your orange one, but I like the S7K design enough that I could even see using it myself.
greenstreak Just curious if you know where I can find a left hand Bat Putter like this one you modified?
