I bought a Bat Caddy motorized cart several years back. Ideally its best performance was on more level layouts without a plethora of hills and slopes to navigate. Mine came with a remote control that was usable as long as the player is within 30 feet or so of the cart. It could turn left, right, forward, backward.
But it was cumbersome. The battery was heavy, and the 8 hours of use eventually dwindles to 6 hours on a full charge over time. I got tired of dealing with it consuming most of the car trunk (had to put the golf bag in the back seat.... then the couple of minutes of setup and having to remember to keep the battery charged the night before. I also found that a lot of bags tend to shift sideways unless I used a bungee cord, as the velcro mounting strap was basically worthless. The tension of the bungee cord would narrow the bag opening, making it difficult to just take out a club and put it back in without fighting with it.
I got tired of dealing with it and gave it to a buddy a few years later. One of the wheels stripped out the cog, needed to be replaced, etc. so I told him what he needed to do to repair it and gave it to him.
Nice concept, but it doesn't come without some hangups and required nuisances.
