Two weeks ago I was doing my normal Sunday routine of hitting a medium bucket of balls, when the head of my 9 iron flew about 30 yards and I was left holding the shaft.
Now I've been playing The Game now for 50 years and this was the first time this has ever happened to me. After a moment of being stunned, I looked and the shaft had broken about a 1/4 inch or so above the hosel. I thought OK I'll just order a new shaft from Hireko. BTW these shafts are Aerotech I-80's that I purchased 3 years ago from Lowpro12.
Later that night however I decided to send an email to Aerotech and asked if there was anything they could do? Two days later I received a reply and the representative said that they would be glad to honor their warranty program and that he would send me a new shaft after I give him details of flex, etc., and that he would send me anew replacement shaft and also a return postage form to send the broken shaft back to Aerotech so that they could study the broken shaft.
Hey, it's always worth a try. Great service by a great company.
