There are just so many solid clutch players for New England. They manage the clock, they control time of possession, they don't make many huge mistakes, they're well coached on both sides of the ball....
Besides all that, they were still held to a field goal in three quarters of play. The Rams are a good football team with a promising future, especially if Goff continues to improve. He showed his inexperience in the 4th quarter, but the Pats defense played the best they've played all season and had him scrambling around.
Questions loom for the Pats in the offseason. Will Gronk retire? Will he continue to be a Patriot if he doesn't? Is Brady being sincere about his plans to return? Is Belichick committed to hanging around a few more years? It'd be awfully easy for both to go out on top and waltz into retirement.
