Prophet CB/MB mixed set?

What say you? I am considering new irons and was thinking of maybe CB for the 3-5 and MB for 6-PW. Or maybe CB for 3-6 and MB for 7-PW? Kinda like a Nike Pr...

2nd pic, third one down, looks like there is a lot of wear on the face. Is that normal from normal play? How are the grooves?
My Nike's are from 2012 so they have seen a LOT of rounds and don't look bad, but are not sharp anymore.

I think what you see is just the finish wearing off the head. The grooves are still plenty good.

The MBs are small. And yeah, the cosmetics aren't great after a few months. I've used my MBs for a year, and they are not winning any beauty contests. Still perform great though.

There is another similar choice, Acer heads. Their MB head, called Tour Blade, is same size as regular heads. They play great, same as any clubs I have. They don't have the 'flex face', if that is anything superior.(?) They also look great. (realizing, of course, you'd have to buy the complete set of CB & MB )

I once played a mixed set of TE's and MMB's but didn't realize a benefit.

Go for it but pics will be required when done. I once had a set of PING G10 5,6,7 and i20 8-UW and liked them pretty well. It was mostly ego-driven and a how-they-looked-in-the-bag deal. In reality, I hit the G10 8-UW much better.

sdandrea1 been looking at some older i models as a cheap expirament....what say you about the 20.....seems like the g model, the I model not a lot changed but ??

I've only got the Tour Blade 7-PW myself. At this age, I can't hit anything longer in an iron. Hybrids do the fill in. (🤔...for the most part)

FYI, I just ordered 3-7 in the CB an 8-PW in the MB.

I don't know exactly when I will switch to these as my plan is to use the same shafts I have in my irons now...

I need to do it when I don't have a tournament coming up as I need to play with these first to see how the distances change (and ensure I like the heads). We have tournaments once a month and I typically play most of them.

Original Dynacraft company did pretty good graphics and finishes. The minute Hireko took over the cosmetics went to hell. Cheesy high polish finish that looks beat after 3 rounds. Must be a cost thing. Also can’t believe stuff out of stock the first of March. This time of year was the start of my hottest selling couple of months. Had all winter to stock up.

I like combo sets. Years ago I had a set of KZG CB's 4-7 and MB 8-P. That was a really nice set. These days my combo set is just different size cavity backs. I have 5i and 6i Apex CF16 and 7-P Apex Pro. I also have the 7i Apex CF16, but the smaller Apex Pro works better for me.

I still have a set of Golfworks blades that are actually a 2-piece hollow design that I keep meaning to do something with. The Dynacraft irons look similar in design.

I don’t count roll in to my iron distance, to me it’s a negative. Carry distance and stopping are what an iron should offer.

Combo sets are a nice option to have. I would LOVE to find a set of inexpensive Nike Vapor Pro combo irons. Long irons is where u need the forgiveness and they really aren't shovels either. The short irons just look and feel so nice.

Apex is a good set to do a combo in even though the non pro version of the Apex still feels good. I'm thinking of my next set of Ping's would be a combo set...maybe i500 long irons and Blueprint short irons when they come out. I had a set of Taylormade MC/CB combo sets for a while but the shafts hated me.
