ValueGolf Not on the docket right now. I understand the want for it, but the 3 and 5s outsell the 7s by a wide margin.
I used to hate it when someone tried to tell me how to run my business. So now I'm going to do the same, LOL!
It's a high margin item. That should count for something when considering a line expansion?
One of my management employees once taught me that there is a lot of synergy from having a full line in certain key categories, beyond what the sales numbers of the marginal SKUs might suggest. Customers want to know they can count on finding all of their needs at (your) business.
I for one would love to see a 28 degree 9 wood in this set. It would motivate me to buy all of them. Without it, meh, not really. If I want to complete an SL concept bag, and if the mid-upper-20 lofts hybrids are not doing it for me, then I need a fairway wood. Probably a 28. This is a very real problem for SL and slow swing speeds. You're selling the SL concept but not solving this problem. And other candidate clubs to solve the problem are virtually non existent, and will not match the other clubs in the SL bag.
Golfworks really misses the boat in this area, BTW. They don't even offer 7 woods, for the most part, for chrissakes. They are applying the 80/20 principle, which "everybody knows" is smart, right? But the other 20 percent is where the big guys are not, and the niches are!
Look at all the infomercial clubs, which are almost always surprisingly successful, and are exclusively niche clubs.
