Derek told me the next batch of headcovers coming in will be zipper type, but he is looking into possibly having magnetic headcovers again. Another option he’s considering is the retro looking fake leather headcovers like the OEMs are using. What do y’all think about those?

I want headcovers that are easy to put on and don't fall off. Appearance doesn't matter to me. I have two old Geek magnetic covers that I am using but they are getting long in the tooth. Golfsmith used to have some "fish mouth" headcovers that fit the bill. I still have three of those I use on my fairway woods.

I prefer old school prom prom socks or any slip on. Good protection, a little harder to put on, but nice padding.

This is why I use an SMT or Ashton headcover with my BOM even though I have an original BOM headcover.

If you go to eBay, and type in Apex NFL headcover that’s the style I was going to ask Derek to check into.

I know Derek would like to go back to Magnetic hcs, especially because Steve was one of the first golf companies to come out with one.

Times change, products change. An Apex style or an old school fake leather looking style would work. If you notice I don’t think any majors are using magnetic headcovers now.

Curious will this next shipment have higher loft FS3 heads? Was looking for a 9 or 10?

Actually yes! He ordered more heads up to 10.5. When he told me I pointed out he needed to order 12s too. Those are on another order, but the oldest stock order should have the lofts you’re looking for. I’ll confirm that with him this week.

The Fail Safe 3, at one time the hottest selling Geek Head had slowed down sales wise in recent years. Geek had considered retiring it, and then Boom there was a resurgence in interest on this head in 2018.

It’s always been a favorite of mine, and so far it’s going to be around for awhile.

Rick, I finally got the chance to put my new Geek DCT driver to the test, and it came through with flying colors! Very solid feeling on all but the worst hits, and when I hit the sweetspot.....WOW! I hit 11 of 14 fairways with decent distance (for a 73 year old!). I have it on an Aldila NV, but I'm wondering if I might not need a shaft with a little lower kick point for a little more hang time. I'm not worried though, as I have a Aldila NVS sitting at home on my workbench.....I'll probably play 3-4 more times down here in Florida, plus hit balls a couple of times, so I'll have a pretty good feel for which shaft will serve me better by the time I leave for home. Thanks to you (and Steve) for the great deal. I think this club is a keeper!!!

Might I ask, at age 73, what flex are you using in that shaft?

I've always considered the NV the ultimate shaft, I've just never tried a Sr. flex, if they have them.

On the Aldila website they have L and A flex in a 55 gr, 65 gr starts with R.

Sorry.....didn't see your post until tonight! I'm using a Senior flex in all my clubs now.....including the Aldila NV
in my driver! I agree with your opinion of the NV......it's a great shaft! Have it in most of my woods now.

Yeah, been looking. Don't think they ever made the 65 in A, only the 55, which might play a bit too soft at 46". Then again, the 65R might be fine at that length; always played them at 45" before.

You might be ok. Aldila quotes that 90-100 swing speed range for all their R flex shafts. I don’t think it’s always accurate just sayin 😎

NV is a good shaft, but IMO the VSProto best it 7 ways till Sunday. Better feel, great distance and IMO one of the best shafts Aldila ever made.

On second thought, I just checked out the profile and Maltby shaft fitting index on that shaft......sounds
like too much shaft for this old guy!!!
