The temps are starting to break, with high-70's and low-80's in the near-term forecast. Of course, we are only a day removed from September.
In a matter of weeks, the leaves will start to turn color. Within a month or so, the overnight lows will gradually meander down into the upper-50's and low-40's. This will usher in the most enjoyable golf rounds of the year, with both the temperatures and the scenery being extraordinary for prime golf. That also means the summer aerations will have recovered and the course conditions will be prime.
And that will last for approximately 30-40 days, until the first deep frost hits in November.
We are on the downward spiral, at least for those of us living in the Northeast. Enjoy it, soak it in, and appreciate what's left of the 2016 golf season.
Winter will be upon us before we knew what hit us...
