Wishon was a top notch company, I can’t speak to it now, but I had the 870ti irons, I picked up second hand, somehow two had a rattle in the hosel and one the weld on the face was suspect, contacted them to find a remedy and to ask about the weld, they replaced all of them with new heads, no charge, no question. Kind of surprised me, most companies warranty ends with the original poster. I think that set might have been cursed though, I put a new set of the Apollo hump shafts in them and the shafts all bent at the hosel, in one practice session/ a round that I had to play with them because it was a work outing. I proceeded to bend the 7 iron shaft of the next set of iron shafts to the point of noticing it before pulling that set and finding more bent tips. I never did reshaft them.. I did however stop buying Apollo anything as they didn’t want to warrant the replacement set which was their high end shaft at the time. They tried to claim I was “abusing” the clubs, there was nothing to indicate that and the tips were bent all in the same direction, but it was a good pissing contest to get anything done.
Component makers?

More than likely it was loose hosel weights. I used to not glue them in and stuffed some cotton on top but got some rattling. I have a set of 870ti I have had for many years and haven't had a single issue.
I’m not a complete idiot, I checked the hosel, even ran a drill down in to see if there was something I was missing, it was solid, not lead. I sent it back to Wishon and they didn’t have an answer and replaced the head(s), so not to say we are all spit balling, but there’s not a “common” answer to this one.
Geek Golf is still here alive and kicking!!!
Bigborgel Geek Golf’s paint holds up. Among the best in the business
Yes ProSeriesGolf golf owns Geek now, and the Geek Golf division is ran 100% by Derek Baer.
The Geek heads of 2018 are the same quality as the heads mfg under Steve Almo. The only change made in any Geek Head is the weight of the No Brainer. It’s now standard 200 gr vs heavier than std. This was a change Steve wanted anyway.
garyt1957 that was the Geek 551.
That head sold well as an Illegal too hot for the USGA Head. When it sold out, long before ProSeriesGolf bought Geek they bought the rights to the 551. Steve then had me design artwork for the LB130, a head that was made to be hotter than standard and not tested by the USGA.
When Almo went back to Bang, Chris Fu came out with the Super Bang o Matic. This head did not get the full Almo-Stamey design treatment. The Head existed, Steve and I changed the look. This and the Yellow Big Bang for Japan were the last 2 new heads Bang came out with, and the only 2 I worked on for Bang and then only because Steve was there.
Still have a 551 9 or 9.5 in plastic from the head Geek ! Using it as a paperweight
Par4QC What doesn't make sense about all these new "hot" heads is that they're making them over 460cc. I believe tests have shown going bigger increases drag which slows SS which likely counteracts any yardage advantage. I assume the extra cc's make for a bigger face that can flex more, but at what cost.
cpanther1995 What happened to Almo anyway? Is he still at Bang? He's been pretty quiet. I know he talked of health problems. Doesn't look like Bang has come out with any new heads since he got there.
garyt1957 Does the larger head make the face hotter, or does it just make the head more stable at impact? There is a large penalty for hitting off the CoG on a regular head. If the increased head size actually provides more stability, this penalty is reduced. As such, even a lower SS with a more stable head will result in better distance.
Offers on a still in the plastic 551? Steve does not count.
