It was fun to watch, especially given that the sport needed a major boost in interest. A lot of people were really turned off because of the strike season, and then within a few years afterward we saw record-breaking players (pitchers and hitters) that helped bring the sport back to its prominence.
But looking back on that era in baseball, in hindsight, it was ultimately just as dark (after the fact) as the strike season was. Perhaps even more so, because steroid use had become so common that in the coming years the fans had no idea who was juicing and who wasn't.
I'm not a fan of the current game so much with managers relying so much on percentages and analytics, but again - I do believe the game is in a better place today.
