Side note; I don't remember ever seeing a golf ball washer at waist height. Too much double entandre not to post.
P.S. Bay Point Nicklaus in Panama City should be a must play for anyone with a set of golf clubs to their name. Wicked fast greens with hidden slopes that jedi mind screw with you on the greens and some killer holes to get your wood up. A couple of other pics from the experience...
Par 3, 2nd hole, view from the tee box. 160 yard forced carry to a little green. Pin was tucked back left for suckers, and 3 of the 4 people in my group got wet off the tee. I barely carried it to the front fringe and escaped this little beast with an up and down par. Always hit one extra club length dummy, so you don't come up short.
View of the bay, looking out over the 5th green from the 4th tee box. 5th hole is like hopscotch. Hit it over a marsh area to a landing zone, with an approach shot of 135 - 200 yards, depending on how much guts you have to hit it close to another marsh area guarding the front of the green. Chicken little here hit 3 hybrid to about 138 and refused to hit straight at a back right pin location placed just for suckers. Ended up 3 putting from like 100 feet. I'm ok with that, versus losing a ball in the junk.
Par 4 4th hole. Yeah, no one told me there was OB on the right and you couldn't cut the corner. I'm still looking for that ball.
I can't remember the last time I hit two balls in the water on the same hole, but I did on this course. I think it was the 12th hole or something like that. Hit a drive that hit the right edge of the fairway, but found the slope that took my ball into a huge waste area bunker. I had 179 carry to another back right sucker pin. Commenced in splashing a 3 hybrid into the drink from the sand. Dropped with a 115 shot at the pin and chunked that one right in the lake guarding the green.
It was like this all day long. Water everywhere, waste bunkers. They gave you generous landing zones in the fairway, but man, if you missed, see ya! I think I lost about 4 or 5 balls on this beast. But what a track!
