I feel you on the old North Stars. I cried the day they knocked down the Old Met Center. Had many many memories in that building including Stanley Cup Games 3,4 and 6 against Pittsburgh. Sat right next to Larry Murphy and Bryan Trottier's spouses. Lemieux's family was a few rows up from me. Talked to Mario's mom who looked just like him...no Ingles I guess... kept saying, Mario...he's great. Mario...he's great. He was.
The Wild made major mistakes committing all that money to BOTH Parise and Suter. They have NO scoring. Staal is a fine player and so is Zucker. Granny is okay but Parise is rarely around and they never surround him with guys who could put the puck in the net.
I have a buddy who is just this morning going over what games he wants to attend this year. Sounds like he's going to 15. He's now going to be a Leafs fan with me because he doesn't expect much from the Wild especially after the disappointment of last season.
RIP Old North Stars... Ciccarelli, Broten, Hartsburg, Tinordi, Bellows, Modano, Gagner, etc. I have the Dallas Stars just down the road but I just can't get into them and I've been here 13 years. They were the old North Stars but it can never be the same.
