There is a post on PartyofFore talking about cutting the cable/satellite and it has me interested. Our DirecTV bill is $155 a month for two TV's.
We pay Xfinity for high-speed internet and home phone as well and that's $85.
I have been considering getting rid of DirecTV and going with streaming only and subscribing to Hulu Live (to get live TV). I have heard that there is a delay of around 90 seconds on the live feed, so if you can't deal with that, then you may not want to do streaming. But supposedly Hulu allows you to have people in your home have their own "DVR" which I assume doesn't actually record things, but earmarks them for viewing later since it's all streaming.
I don't know about specific channel lineup, but my dad wants to get Golf Channel back since they dropped to a very small DirecTV package and their bill is much, much less then ours, but he wants Golf Channel and ESPN for Monday Night Football.
There are options, but it's not seamless and takes getting used to, which is the thing that is stopping me. My wife isn't going to pick up on things very quickly and I will be the only one that she can complain to when she is frustrated! 😂
