For the celebrity I'm going with Jane Fonda also. She's led a remarkable life. I've admired her as an actress throughout the years, but more importantly for her life of activism. Her Five Acts With Jane Fonda on HBO on now is very enlightening.
For those who want to judge her for one aspect of her life that she regrets is too bad. I'm 63 and she's old enough to be my mother, but anyone who remains being relevant that long is interesting to me.
For the athlete I'm going with Bill Russel (Boston Celtics). Growing up on Cape Cod in the 1960's the Boston Celtics especially Bill Russel were huge. I always admired his stature on the Celtics, but didn't appreciate his activism especially on racial injustice until I was much older.
Needless to say his stature as someone who used his athletic position to transcend athleticism into activism when it wasn't very popular, is very impressive to me.
Meaningless conversation with a meathead actor / actress or athlete who is so self involved doesn't interest me.
