I hit my KE4 Forged 7 iron (32*) about 153 yards (yes, I know my irons distances pretty much to the yard).
I had a funny experience with my uncle, who is about 82 years old. This guy has an ego that barely fits on this Earth. Anyways, he's a terrible golfer and thinks that he's pretty good. He lies to get his score into the 80s when he really plays about 125.
I had been suffering through a game with him as he hacked his way around, hitting 3, 4, and even 5 balls off every tee until he was somewhat happy. His best was about 165 yards, but about 250 in his eyes.
We come up onto the 11th tee where there is really long carry that is a sure bet to eat up his drive. He says, "I think I'll hit my 7-iron to be safe." I said, "7-iron? What the Hell are you talking about, Ralph? How far do you think you hit a 7-iron." He says, "About 180."
I roll my eyes. He tees up the ball and I'll be damned if he doesn't hit his 7-iron about 180. I say, "Holy crap! Where did that come from?" He says, "I don't know. My 7-iron's my longest club in the bag."
