I like this video. Maybe because I'm the viewer who requested it. ๐ Also, Bill Phillips now uses a Dechambeau like ulnar deviation wrist position at address. JH reminded him that DeChambeau uses very upright lie angles. JH also has a video where he shows a more Moe Norman like address when doing CL. Also, JH calls Dechambeau Decambo.
JH is also getting Cobra single length irons that are in the 10 degree upright lie angle range. That tells me he'll be incorporating Dechambeau's ulnar deviation address wrist position. Bill Phillips had a set of SL Cobra's, but no longer uses them. I forget why.
What you'll notice about both JH and Phillips is they both like doing videos and will show different iterations that you may want to incorporate or what they call 'atomic particles' for your CL swing.
The reason you'll hit it right also could be you need to close your club face more at address because of the exaggerated in to out swing path. However, JH seems to be more in to out than Phillips is. I think JH is something like (at least) 4 degrees in to out.
It probably should be said also that both JH and Phillips always hit a draw (before CL). The issue they had was they couldn't control the draw. The back ball position / closed shoulders turned the over draws / pull hooks into baby controllable draws.
Mr. X (JH's associate) hit big hooks and quit golf because he couldn't control it. Now according to JH he has the best ball flight (slight draw) of anyone on that range in the background. And he says some Australian Tour players use that range.
The selling point of CL is that it in theory anyway the closed shoulders / inside out swing should help slicers as well a hookers. However, upper body swingers like myself know that keeping the closed shoulders into impact is easier said than done.
