I agree with Scott, most people will have issues with controlling the lower lofts because of side to side issue. You are going to get less backspin, which allows more side spin to come into play. It sounds like you are already a fader/slicer if you want a closed face, this probably isn’t going to be a great idea for you, but that’s up to you to determine, not me.
If you are looking for run out off the drive, make ball position adjustments, back slightly in your stance. Or go to a lower spinning ball, that’s not designed to go sky high. The E6 and E7 from Bridgestone are reasonable compromise balls that help do what you want.
Realistically speaking you are looking at a difference of 17 yards on average per hole. That’s a club or two up with no changes. If you are playing well enough to worry about winning, don’t be screwing around, go play your game and hit the right club for the shot in front of you.
