PA-PLAYA Spuzz Which two golfers playing today would make this type of exhibition more interesting for you?
Spuzz PA-PLAYA Not the players but the format that doesn't interest me at all. Not sure what format would interest me, but watching millionaires play golf for more millions of other people's money doesn't make me wanna tune in is all. Maybe if they did a modified Superstar's Competition I would watch. π
sdandrea1 Spuzz Not sure what format would interest me, but watching millionaires play golf for more millions of other people's money doesn't make me wanna tune in is all. Agree. KInda in your face to the folks who complain about golf only being for the rich. Just sayin'.
Rickochet sdandrea1 If Phil waxes Tiger in a beat down, it will only air once. The fix is on. π Either one could have a bad day. I don't know what kind of format would be most interesting but I think a plain stroke play matching could be really boring if either player gets a few strokes behind. I wish they would just drop the whole idea.
professor meagain PA-PLAYA I disregarded your post because it had political overtones regarding news media. The only reason that was added because some asshole is always getting on Fox News, otherwise it wouldn't have been there. Can "me again" possibly be Puttnfool? I don't know. Was Puttnfool from Crawford County, PA and all-knowing about Sharon Stone? LOL
ZWExton professor I dont think Meagain deserves that kind of undesirsble comparison, though the name "Meagain" would be an ironic way to stage a stealthy second coming.
ode Meh, maybe in their prime when there was a rivalry. I could see tiger/Phil vs. Jordan/Rickie or Jordan/Justin.....something like that would be fun.
darpar I'll watch it,kind of reminds of the old Shell's Wonderful World of Golf! Would be much better theater if they put up their own $$$$$$$!
professor darpar I'll watch it,kind of reminds of the old Shell's Wonderful World of Golf! Would be much better theater if they put up their own $$$$$$$! Exactly! Agreed
Typhoon darpar I agree, it reminds me of "Shells Wonderful World of Golf "as well. I'll be watching. Shadow Creek is cool too.
braveheart I think itβs a wonderful idea. They certainly are the Jack and Arnie of our times. Both with enough skill to make it competitive and fun to watch.
PA-PLAYA braveheart Righto. They are the Jack and Arnie of our times. And I think both of them still have a little left in the tank and some deep pride that still drives them to try to stay competitive. I don't think either want to lose. I would tune in.
PA-PLAYA ESPN is reporting that the Phil vs Tiger match is set. Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas will be the venue. The date is yet to be finalized, but it's looking like it'll take place sometime over Thanksgiving weekend (Fri or Sat).
letthebigdogshunt Both were great players in their prime. But even if this was 15 years ago I still would not watch. I barely watch the PGA any more but for the Majors so why would I watch this silly event. This is something like the past days of golf, the silly season.
KCee I'll watch of course, but I can't say I'm all that excited about it. I was hyped for Tiger and Duval years ago and then that was "meh" IMO.
rsvman To me the idea is fairly lame. At the very least, they need to make it match play rather than stroke play. In match play, I'd give the edge to Tiger. In stroke play, all bets are off.
Weirfan johnnydoom No interest for me. i might watch a little if they have showgirls tending the pins. none here either..... heard a radio interview with a couple PGA pros before the Canadian Open and to both of them and lots of the guys its a joke and receiving alot of razing and chirping.....they aren't interested either, but both said it would be moderately more if Tiger and Phil were putting up their own money.....#21 and #50 in the world...whooptedo.......Golf version of the wrastling cage match
