Avon chamois oversize grip issues?

I’ve been getting these Avon Chanois oversized grips from diamond tour and monark golf. I did 2 sets of clubs before this last set. This last set of grips every grip came loose. I’ve always used the same brand of tape and solvent from Golfworks.

This is the first issue I’ve ever had like this so not sure if I have bad grips or tape. The first 2 sets of clubs I did were from the same order which were from diamond tour. Diamond tour ran out so I got these from monark.

Did you use a "new" roll of tape or a "new" bottle of solvent?

Could the shafts have been different butt diameters? If not, I'd have to guess it was the grips. Maybe this was a slightly bigger batch, or maybe the grip formulation changed, and it's not reacting the same way to the tape and solvent. I've been using the DTG super jumbo grips the last 2-3 years and I reuse them if I can to try on clubs I may or may not keep. If one was on a bigger butt wood (~.630") and I try it on an iron, it'll slide right off if I try to use it soon after removing it. Maybe Aaron from Value Golf can chime in.

Thought about the butt diameter on the shaft but it’s doing it one every shaft steel or graphite.

New bottle of solvent. I’m going to do some testing tonight.

Ok update time

Removed the grips and removed tape. Used a different tape and reinstalled grips. Meanwhile they sat for 3 days in my basement shop. I contacted Golfworks and Pete Calloway said due to the grip having internal ribs on them they hold pockets of solvent. He said he used to take a needle and poke holes in the grip to help release the solvent.

Guy played today and the grips are coming loose again. What’s the thing that sticks out to me the most? When I installed these grips on two other sets of irons I felt those ribs as they went over the butt of the shaft. These I do not feel that. Measured the iron shaft diameter and it’s .600 and the 7 wood has a .620 diameter.

Wish I could remember if it was Golfsmith or Golfworks but recently there was a thread on golfwrx about bottles of solvent with the certain part#/serial # being lousy and people having issues. You might want to Google " golfworks bad grip solvent" and see if anything comes up....like this....

The only grip issue I had was using Brampton's grip solvent. I installed a set of grips on a set of irons using Bramptons and the clubs weeped solvent in the bottom of the bag for a full 3 weeks making the grips very slick. I finally pulled the grips and cleaned them. What a job it was to get the bag clean. I have used Jumbo Chamois but I can't remember if those were the grips in this situation.

I would regrip using odorless mineral spirits.
