The Starbucks story is fishy.
I owned three stores in a lower income area. If I or any employees were not able to get along with black people, we would never have made it. That was the first thing that came to my mind. The SB manager works in a central district of Phily. She wouldn't be there if she was bothered by black customers.
She was interviewed and said that because there was a tremendous loitering problem, all of the SB's in the central district of Philly had a no tolerance policy. Anyone who has been in certain urban areas can imagine what would happen if they didn't.
So these two guys loiter, ask to use the restroom, and make a scene. Police are called.
Someone is video-ing the police part. The white person "they are supposed to meet" shows up just at that moment, and says on camera, "what is their crime, being black?!"
Next there are very organized protests. Usually when a company is targeted like this, there are settlements in which they pay big money to organized black activism "charities", and sometimes a guy like Jesse Jackson gets a cushy seat on the company board. This has been done many times.
It all smells bad to me. That said, I'm NOT saying there is not racism in America. Heck, it's part of being human, it happens everywhere. Doesn't make it right, but it's human nature. Nevertheless, I think the SB thing was a setup.
