PA-PLAYA Spuzz
I respect your viewpoint as (probably) someone who has followed the sport most of his life and can somewhat anticipate where the puck is going. For you types - the "glow puck" probably dumbs-down the sport considerably, leaving you to exclaim, "what a bunch of pussies to need this to follow along."
But it doesn't necessarily draw interest for non-hockey fans when they can't see where the damned puck is going.
You hit the nail on the head. We have grown up watching hockey, ( ive been watching for 51 years) most of us have played the game at some point and have kids who play (ed) . As such we are accustomed to the speed , have an understanding of the game that permits anticipating where the play is going and as such we can easily follow the puck.
If you think the game is fast on tv watch a game from seats in the first 20 rows and yoh will be shocked at how fast it is.
The puck tracer was Fox ( I think it was) used received ridicule up here but i'm with you that if it helps people in the US follow the game easier then why not have broadcasts to assist those fans
