Bought a pair of Walter Hagen golf shoes from Dick's a few years ago. They looked nice, reasonably priced, 2-yr waterproof warranty.
The VERY first morning I wore them, two days after purchasing them... heavy dew on the ground... within an hour my feet were as wet as if I'd dipped my feet, with socks on, in the pond near the 5th green.
Something tells me that if Sir Walter Hagen were around today - he'd tell Dick's Sporting Goods to go f**k themselves, he's not putting his name on their inferior shit.
In summary... the last thing I would want is to have the longstanding quality of Hogan, MacGregor, etc. completely bastardized and made inferior to everything else on the market by a conglomerate who is more focused on sales than quality.
I'd personally rather do without and remember these brands for what they once were, versus having them become just like a pathetic, cheap-ass pair of inferior golf shoes from a company that is trying to capitalize off of a legendary name/brand.
