Re: Patriots rumors...
Point 1 - the greed for success far outweighs whatever issues might be going in with a star athlete of an organization. See LeBron James and the crap Dan Gilbert (owner) has had to accept (above and beyond the salary cap penalties requested by LeBron due to "building" a team around him, yet without agreeing to a salary decrease himself) over the past few years. It is worth noting, however, that the Cavaliers' ship is starting to take on a lot of water.
Point 2 - despite the greed for success - egos are still prevalent. I was reminded of this yesterday after the Pats won, when Belichick was asked by a reporter, "What does it say about Brady to have gone through what he went through this past week (injured hand) and still perform like he did?" (or something to that effect). Belichick's response? "Tom's a tough guy. But we're not talking about open heart surgery here."
New England could very well win another Super Bowl in two weeks, because of Point #1. But that doesn't mean that the owner/coach/star QB dynamics haven't changed. Some will argue that Bill's response was nothing more than Bill just being Bill... but I've never heard him, ever, try to downplay Brady's heroics. And let's face it - Brady is the reason they won yesterday. I found his comment very, very interesting.
Sometimes you just gotta remove the fan cap, listen and observe.
