Gear effect is like any other spin. You can have too much, not enough, or about right. I don't experience as many drivers as some of you ho's, but I've definitely had some 460's that had too much gear effect on toe hits, caused by not enough bulge. The drivers that stayed in my bag had more bulge and could get a toe hit back into play but not over to the other side rough. It's part of the reason I'm still playing a 2009 Nike driver.
Long winded explanation of why I think this idea should be good.
To the argument that this is too much tech assistance, I understand the feeling. But bulge and roll have been part of wood design since forever. When heads were the size of a woman's fist, it was all figured out. I think for the 460 heads it is still being figured out.
