PA-PLAYA I haven't played Pinehurst, and honestly I doubt I will ever justify paying whatever obscene amount of money they want to play this place. My Dad and brother are here all the time to play Pine Needles and Mid Pines, and amongst their group no one gets excited about Pinehurst or wants to play it.
One story for you; my Dad was sitting in a bar near Pinehurst and met a guy who had played Pebble Beach one day and Pinehurst the next. My Dad asked him whether he thought either course was worth it, and the guy said, "None of the holes at Pinehurst stood out in my memory, so I would say no."
Not really ripping on Pinehurst honestly, but unless I had cancer and six months to live and was doing my bucket list, I doubt I'll ever tee it up there, on #2 anyway.
