Shaft suggestions

Ok, so I'm not sure I did this right, but let's try it. Assuming all three shafts are a good fit for me as I've gotten from a reliable source that I'm looking in the right "location" and I'm on "the right path", which shaft would you buy if you were buying for yourself?

The NV 75 and vs proto 80 will profile about the same.....the main diff will be weight, but within 5 grams of one another. I'd go for the best deal between the two. Both are good shafts. Don't know anything about the g70, seems like GD has fallen far from the radar in the shaft world.

puttnfool yes, I've used both with success, I use the 85nv in my driver no w and love it. Historically have stayed with the NV as it was always cheaper than the vs proto, but now they are about the same price. Not sure I could tell the difference between the two if they had the same paint....maybe the vs proto has slightly better feel, slightly smoother, but they are very very close.

Smooooooth, SS 103-105, way too early wrist release. I've used the NV55 and NVS55 a lot in drivers, and 75s and 85s in FWs.

ode That's good info. I was thinking of getting the GD shaft since I was told they were being discontinued and I'd hate to miss out on something that was a perfect fit, but after hearing this, I might just go with the Proto.

Sparky You've got a couple mph on me in swing speed, but I figure I make up for that with a hair later release and a bit quicker tempo so a similar shaft should suit me fine.

None of the above although I do have a NV75S in my stash. I would say VS Proto in stiff not regular.

backinit the numbers dictate that I should use the R instead of the S. Although, I might go with the S since it's going into a 3wd and I wouldn't mind it being a bit tighter than the driver.

backinit After crunching the numbers again, the stiff doesn't look so bad, but that .620 butt section is making me hesitate. Not sure how the WINN DriTac mids will play once I stretch them over it. I guess it's worth a shot.

Leaning toward the Proto stiff now. I'll wait for some more comments/votes.

Can’t vote since I’ve only played one of them. The NV75 is a solid and consistent shaft, but my swing likes a livelier tip in the woods. I have an NVS in my SMT Indio and it works better for me for overall distance.

Aldila is still my favorite shaft mfg. I have had good ones from GD and HOF, and other brands. I always go back to Aldila.

If I had to choose between an NV and a VS Proto any weight, I would go with the VS PROTO.

I ended up going with the Aldila VS Proto Regular. While I was at it, I picked up a VS Proto Hybrid 80 Regular to try in a Powerbilt Hybrid (or maybe the Dynacraft Genesis hybrid that I've been playing) and a Aerotech SteelFiber i110 Regular.

I, also, just put together my Powerbilt 3wd with the AccuFLEX Evolution Regular that I had in the driver. It was a bit stiff in the driver, I didn't really feel it load unless I really go on it, but I'm hoping that the combination of more headweight in the 3wd and the 1/2" to 3/4" I trimmed the butt end down will soften it a bit. I could deal with a bit tighter shaft in the 3wd anyway.

Now, if I can just get some temps in the 40's or 50's to get out for a round or two... or even some time on the range.
