What Are Your Favorite Ping Irons?
The beryllium copper ones.

An old, old picture of them but they will be in the bag tomorrow morning. I try to give them some daylight a couple times/year. No better than I'm playing right now, they may stay in the bag for a while.
Took the Raptures to the range today in order to learn yardages, but the range was in quite a bit of disorder after all of the rain we’ve had. None of the flags were anywhere near their normal yardage and so I still don’t have a clue. Looks like the regular graphite shafts and purple lie angle are agreeable with my swing though. After I stopped over swinging (took about 30 or 40 balls) everything was string straight along the point of aim.

Still rocking the Raptures. Haven't ever hit any other model of Ping iron. Also been impressed with the G400 driver and 5 wood, which are the only other Ping clubs I've ever hit. Only have 4 non-Ping clubs in the bag: 3 hybrid, 54 deg. wedge, 58 deg. wedge, and putter.

Wow. Old thread. Let’s see, G15, i20, G25, G410. All great. G25 is hard to beat but G410 is in my bag.

Dang, Steve how did you run across this old thread? FWIW since I posted this I tried some Ping G400 irons and sent them back. I like the old fugly Eyes also. I reamed out a set of Eyes last summer and really liked them with the FST shafts. Distance was a bit short but so was most everything else I tried but I hit them well. At the end of the summer I picked up a set of Eye 2 + orange dots and will ream them out this winter (with a reamer - private joke). I hope to get a bit more distance than with the Eye 2. I have weeded out most other iron sets I had and now have only some Hireko thick topline shovels and two sets of Ping fugly shovels. Me likey.
I second the G25s and when they were new I really liked the I5s

I always thought Ping had a very distinctive look that carried over from one model to another. The G400 set I had I thought that they had totally gotten away from their signature look and more like everything else.

As Steve would say, and I agree, their signature look was “no ferrules”. Now their irons look like everyone else’s but they are very easy to hit... that part remains.
And Johnnydoom... I’ve always secretly wanted a set of Rapture V2 irons... I think those are the Japan version with low offset right?

I know they exist and I saw some of those on eBay when looking for a sand wedge for the set. But I really don't know a lot about Raptures or their lore. I bought these used from meagain when I was looking for irons with regular flex graphite shafts to try and didn't care too much which brand or model. These are the original version irons and are more accurate than any other irons I've ever played when I'm swinging well. The graphite has seemed to alleviate the joint pain I was having in my fingers and wrists after rounds too. But there is supposed to be a Japan version like you referenced with lower offsets.

My experience with the G400 was quite different. It wasn't about ferrules. The thinner topline look at address for me was a disappointment. They didn't have that Ping look to me. And I didn't find them as forgiving as some of the older models.
