The Sinner is very good. It's incredibly well acted, perfectly paced and interesting.
season 1 was probably the best and season 2 the weakest ( but still quite good)
All 4 seasons are unrelated other than the continued development of the main protagonist ( Pullman) they pick away nicely at his psychological challenges and for lack of a better word deterioration and the reality is the storylines in latter seasons tend to be more about him and that than the actual crime which is more secondary.
If it's available in the US, there is a somewhat similar Canadian crime drama called Cardinal that was filmed in my brother's hometown. It's lower budget and similarly dark and moody but a good series.
Have watched all the Harlan Coben adaptations/shows on Netflix ( more to come ) and they have been worthy
