Arcane.
I didn't even intend to watch this. I was reading on my Kindle while my daughter and her boyfriend began this series. They had told me that it was an animated fantasy/adventure - based on the video game League of Legends, and that kind of turned-me-off. I figured, not having played the game (or having any real interest to do so), I would be missing a lot of backstory - plus it just sounded as though it were geared to a much younger audience. Wrong. After 5-10 minutes I had stopped reading and was watching along with them. After one episode (about 45 minutes long?) I was thinking "this is special". After two, "this is REALLY special", and was already saddened to learn that there will only be nine episodes. They really have created a stunning, immersive, world, with well defined characters, and an interesting and well-paced story line. I'm still kind of surprised just how invested I've become after only two episodes. Episodes 3 through 6 are penciled in for the next four evenings - just in time for episodes 7, 8, and 9 to be released on the 20th.
