Typhoon boxing and it's promoters ruined the sport....and in walked MMA! I definitely miss the days of old,,,,going to the bar and watching a big fight or chipping in to get the PPV and a keg of beer. I have to bring up Pernell Whitaker (rip) and being robbed of a decision by the judges getting a draw vs. Julio Cesar Chavez...as he was in the crowd last night! I also bring this up as Crawford narrowly missed being robbed himself. On one judges card he won rounds 11 and 12 for 115-113 and the others 10-11-12 to win 115-113. Whilst the fight was close, i thought Crawford out worked him and outpointed him clearly. The judges love Canelo's style. He is imposing, pushes the pace and rips the body. That didn't seem to bother Crawford.
Re; Mbilli / Martinez that was a war......I thought Mbilli won a narrow decision. Martinez did not fight smart. When he moved and boxed he started to separate himself from Mbilli, but he refused to do it with any regularity and fought Mbilli's fight. Good for the fans but not for a decision win. I always find it interesting how one judge has it clear for each fighter and one has it a draw🤔
