What to watch on Netflix

I’m going to watch this. They did the McDonalds story on The Food That Built America on the History Channel recently.

One thing I found interesting is how the McDonald brothers came up with the assembly line concept for fast food and you could pay them something like $900 to go there and learn how to do it.

Two guys who paid the $900 to learn it were the guys who started Burger King and Taco Bell.

Yeah, the McDonald brothers were the real pioneers behind fast food. Ray just essentially took it (some might even say stole it) and made it universal. I found it interesting that his financial advisor (I think?) told him that the real money was in the real estate leases that the restaurants were built on. You could tell that Ray (based on the movie anyway) had seriously overlooked that specific revenue angle.

So the McDonald's brothers were behind the fast food concept, clearly. But the drive-thru concept, which wasn't brought up in the movie, is just as revolutionary imo. During the last year, specifically, a lot of these fast food places have not missed a beat despite not having dine-in customers. Think about how many would've gone out of business if they didn't have drive-thru capabilities!

I was searching Netflix, and saw that the 40 minute documentary, "Long Shot" is still on there.

If you're not familiar with it, I recommend not watching the preview and just spending the 40 minutes on one of the most incredible stories of all-time.

See that "Doctor Foster" is back on Netflix. One of the biggest surprises to me of any show I've ever watched. Just fantastically gripping and profoundly affective.

Ha Ha , just finished season 2 and I'm thinking the scene you're talking about was the shaman in the shower? All in all not a bad series but it should've ended at two seasons (if it's coming back I guess it could go either way the way they left it). I think another season would be just to drawn out. It did have a "Fargo" vibe that I liked.

PA-PLAYA. had a couple slower seasons in the later years but all round excellent. I hear there's talk of bringing it back.

azgreg So weird that I've never made it past the halfway point in two tries. For some reason it doesn't grab ahold of me and I just lose track and lose interest. If you like weird, Holy Motors is a weird one that I did manage to finish.

I just powered through it. Hopefully I won't make that mistake again. Too bad though as I'm usually OK with a cult classic.
