And too... Vince Gilligan's work with Better Call Saul, where he goes back in time before Breaking Bad to establishes a storyline to develop how Breaking Bad all started... I wonder if some writers and producers saw his example with BCS to create foundational lead-ins in a similar manner? (forgive me for lack of proper wording, but I hope it was communicated the way intended).
It's hard to develop yet another Batman movie, Rocky, etc. but there's untapped material there to write a creative and interesting narrative leading into those blockbuster films, e.g. with what happened prior to Batman being who he became, or the Joker, or Rocky Balboa, etc.
When Better Call Saul came out, I thought it would be little more than a fluff series trying to cling on to Breaking Bad fame. But frankly I think it's been almost as good as Breaking Bad was.
Which brings me to this question: When Better Call Saul finally ends, do I recommend someone watch Breaking Bad first, since it was released earlier? Or do I recommend watching Better Caul Saul to seamlessly dovetail into Breaking Bad????
