[deleted] A body in the snow on Max. Documentary on Karen Read. John should know all about this one as round 2 is starting right now. This all is going on in Canton, MA. There is evidence in both camps. I found her to be a bit of a bitch, but that doesn't make her a killer
Watched it awhile back. Hard to believe they didn’t find her guilty of something. At least one of the lesser charges. Taking all the evidence in totality I’d have found her guilty of at least either voluntary or involuntary manslaughter. Flexible to either one. The evidence for me was overwhelming.
The cops investigating had some issues, especially one. The defenses job is to poke holes in the case. Which they did. But unable for me anyway to believe any conspiracy. Her lawyers did a great job though . I thought she didn’t come across well either.
I’ve been on a jury where the top charge was aggravated assault. Lesser charge was threatening with a deadly weapon, then the least charge was assault. After ~ 3 hours we agreed on the threat with a deadly weapon which was a box cutter.
When you’re on a jury you all have to agree that the elements of the charge were met beyond a reasonable doubt. The jury instructions / elements of each charge are spelled out clearly.
We sent a couple of notes to the judge as well, which were no help to the jurors asking for guidance.
Interested to see how this trial turns out. If I were her I’d take a plea deal for one of the lessor charges rather than roll the dice.
