Release I understand the harder the finishing surface the less wear will show.
Remembering reading this from somewhere that Ben Hogan himself did not like the re-chromed iron heads, something to do with the feel.
Since I do not have any personal experience with the re-chromed forged iron heads, hence I ask if there is any difference.
I guess there would not be any difference for the general golfers and if they're happy look down on a shinning set of jewel like iron then it's all worth awhile.
The iron Factory had been around for awhile now, so they must have been doing something right.
The feel wasn't really any different. Jim Kronus built clubs for Nicklaus among others. They used to build the TC tour issue wedges for Titleist. They offered the C2 wedges commercially, which was where they would take a Vokey, re-chrome it with the copper underlayer just like the Tour issue wedges, with the square grooves and aggressive sandblast of the face. I have a set of Vokey 200 series done that way and the 252-08 and 256-12 are still in my bag. I have a 60* special grind raw Vokey P grind with porting and the square groove and sandblast from a different source.
The iron factory is the real deal.
Continental golf is another good shop.
