Par4QC Hence the name of the discussion.
The problem with the two driver scenario is that I would know that 1 was "aligned" and the other was not (or was "misaligned"). I'd have a 50/50 chance of guessing which one it was even if I couldn't tell a difference.
With a set of 8-9 irons there are many, many possibilities of ways the clubs could be setup. You could "align" 4-6 and "misalign" 7-GW or "align" 4, 6, 8, and PW, and "misalign" 5, 7, 9, GW or "align" them all except the 8i or any number of other possible scenarios.
If you did that last setup and I come back with, "Holy, SHIT! That 8i is fucked up, but the rest are smooth!", then I would be a believer and would admit that there's something to it.
The only thing I'd dictate is the parts, the length, and a desired swingweight range.
I dunno, I just figured someone would jump at the chance to prove me wrong.
For the record, the club heads would be Dynacraft PC3 uprights, the shafts, Apollo Hump, and the grips Winn DriTac midsize. I'd prefer the grips blown on, but with these parts, there's really little to do. No ferrules to screw with. No tip trimming. Should be relatively simple.
