Game six up 3 games to two with Justin Verlander pitching I think the Astros just blew the series. Good job by the Dodgers never been a fan since back in the Brooklyn days.

It's been a very compelling postseason for a lot of different reasons. Two years in a row that MLB has really delivered in exciting postseason play.

I still don't follow it like I did back in the 80's, but the past few world series have definitely peaked my interest a little.

I suspect the Astros had their chance last night and let it slip by. Then again - who knows... the two best teams in baseball are going into tonight's game with everything on the line. The Dodgers trying to end a 29-year drought, and the Astros trying to win their first.

It's almost like it was predestined that it would come down to a 7th game.

I will be watching!

So is it going to be a slug fest or a pitching duel? Yu needs to step his game and If he doesn't I doubt Kershaw will help pitching on one day of rest. McCullers Jr. needs to go at least 6 innings. This may end up with which bull pen is more rested. Hope this game is as much fun as the rest of the series. This has been really good for the game. I think the fringe fans like the long ball and not low scoring games. I know 162 games is a long season and people just don't have the patience to stay with something as long these days. For me I hate that the season is over tonight and already getting ready for all the off season trades and signing of free agents. Shortly after that comes Spring training. 😄

Just curious, as I am watching this looooong game, why do they NEED to have 162 games in the regular season? Why not cut it down to say, 112 games (cut 50 out). The season is so long now when you combine the spring training and regular season and then the post season, that it wouldn't hurt to shorten the season some.
Football runs for, what 6.5 months, baseball is what, 9 months?

The reason they went to 162 is MONEY!!!! Sports is big business and that means raking in the bucks. Once they got up to 162 they will not go back to 154 or less games.

Tough way to lose for the Dodgers,they had their chances,just left way too many runners stranded on base.
But LA lost to a bunch of good deserving guys from Houston.
Great series and a battle of the two best YOUNG teams in baseball.
Let's do it again next year.
Congrats to Houston,you guys needed this!

Both teams players left their hearts out on the field. Great series with a lot of excitement and disappointment for all. Right now there are at least 4-5 teams that are going to be really competitive over the next half dozen years. Astros, Dodgers, Indians, Yankees and a couple more that could be there next year as well.

That was really compelling viewing. I haven't been glued to the tv like that in a long time. Well done boys of summer (and fall).

Not much drama for a seventh game,pretty much decided by the second inning.
I mean when the Dodgers had a record setting 4 batters hit the same pitcher,
and nothing to show for it,I knew they were doomed.
The sometimes questionable Houston bullpen,looked unhittable....AND THEY WERE.
Great back and forth series though,can't wait for the 162 games season next year to end....
So I can start watching baseball again! 🙂

Game 7 was the first game I watched all year. Astros won the game but I think the Dodger players out spit them. Things have changed. I remember when players scratched their nuts and didn't spit.

I thought it was a great series. Houston simply had the hotter bats, while the Dodgers had the inferior bullpen.

The coaching in LA, exhausting their pitching in an effort to extend the series to 7 games, while understandable, just wasn't a sustainable strategy.

Houston was the better team, and both the Dodgers and the Astros look very promising the next few years.

Houston needed this, especially after Hurricane Harvey. I think the Astros played with a little more freedom, given that very few expected them to win, with absolutely nothing to lose.

Par4QC If he remembered back that far he would not be posting here it would be on the big board in the sky. I had a glove my dad gave me when I was around 8 years old and it had lacing and at the time the glove was probably 15 years old and that would have put it circa 1935. I know that gloves in Cooperstown had no lacing, but they were worn back in the late 1800's and they looked like a mitten from around 30 years ago. Have no idea how they caught the ball with those "gloves" they were so small.
