PA-PLAYA Much ado about nothing.

Maybe not. Both teams are saying the ball from the regular season has been changed out to one with a slicker cover by MLB. And no one is answering their questions about that. They also are not denying it.

You want to keep viewers coming back.....make sure there is lots of home runs. (??)

Also, the post season pitching, by every team, has been poor, at best. Starters that are yanked in the middle of the 2nd is not good pitching; most can't make it past the 4th-5th, after the full 5 days rest. The bullpens have been horrendous, from every team. Are they wore out? Is it, in fact, the ball?(yeah, there have been a couple good performances. A couple!)

Mind you, I do not watch a single game of baseball, until the playoffs, but this has been the worst playoff season I can remember. No telling who is going to win, or when. I'll read about it in the paper....season is officially over for me after last night's fiasco.

Meant to ask someone.....did the ballboys actually get to pitch last night?😜

Or... you could fix the series to where it favors one team and there is absolutely no drama, which (btw) seems to be the college football M.O.

Embrace the current game in MLB. Ignore the fabricated controversy of the texture of the baseball (for crying out loud) and enjoy the product as-is.

Both teams are pitching the same goddamned baseball!

I used to, when baseball was baseball and games were 2 hrs.. And, players played.
I cannot do that now; the reason I do not watch until playoffs. Even then, I won't/cannot watch every game/every team. Last night was 5 hrs.. Uncalled for. I like homers as much as the next person, but changing out every dog on the sled.....maybe twice an inning......I'm coming to expect a future draft to be laden with multi position pitchers. EVERYONE would be eligible to take the mound, and throw a couple pitches, if needed.

Spuzz who could forget that series with Carter's walk off. I went to a WS game at the Metrodome in 91 as a youngster just in high school....that was a helluva series with Atlanta, I remember a lot of close games coming down to the last at bat!

Baseball games were around 2 hr 40 min back in the mid 50's when were you watching games in the 2 hour timeframe. Occasionally a game would end in less that 2 hr but most games were in the 2 1/2 to 3 hr time frame. The reason games are so long today is pitchers take forever to get the signs from the catcher and batters step out of the box almost after every pitch. The pitching coach comes out a bunch of times as does the catcher to talk to the pitcher and of course there is the bringing in the specialist to pitch to one or two batters. Then there is the ever present commercials. The game is changing rapidly. Baseball is constantly using sabre metrics to improve how the game is played. What you are seeing in this series is just the start of it. Pitchers going 4-5 innings and then bringing in relievers to finish the game. This works well in a 162 game season, but when you are playing seven games series and doing this the bull pen is getting burnt out because they have been doing it for most of September and all of the post season. Usually during the season you can use a few pitchers in relief and then send they down to the farm system and bring up fresh arms. In the World Series your roster is frozen unless there is an injury.

My wife hates baseball and watched it until the end last night. The only reason, her brother is a BB fan, she spoke with him before the game and he was at the previous game.
The only baseball I watch are the kids at school.

I got married in Aug of 1992 and then Toronto won the Series, 2 months later.

Game six up 3 games to two with Justin Verlander pitching I think the Astros just blew the series. Good job by the Dodgers never been a fan since back in the Brooklyn days.

It's been a very compelling postseason for a lot of different reasons. Two years in a row that MLB has really delivered in exciting postseason play.

I still don't follow it like I did back in the 80's, but the past few world series have definitely peaked my interest a little.

I suspect the Astros had their chance last night and let it slip by. Then again - who knows... the two best teams in baseball are going into tonight's game with everything on the line. The Dodgers trying to end a 29-year drought, and the Astros trying to win their first.

It's almost like it was predestined that it would come down to a 7th game.

I will be watching!

So is it going to be a slug fest or a pitching duel? Yu needs to step his game and If he doesn't I doubt Kershaw will help pitching on one day of rest. McCullers Jr. needs to go at least 6 innings. This may end up with which bull pen is more rested. Hope this game is as much fun as the rest of the series. This has been really good for the game. I think the fringe fans like the long ball and not low scoring games. I know 162 games is a long season and people just don't have the patience to stay with something as long these days. For me I hate that the season is over tonight and already getting ready for all the off season trades and signing of free agents. Shortly after that comes Spring training. 😄
