sdandrea1 I demo'd a G425 SFT in Florida for 2 rounds. I wouldn't say it's any better than the G400 SFT - VERY similar head, sound feel. Shaft options will probably make the most difference.

I think this is the case with most golf clubs these days. Not necessarily better, but different. The G400 head is smaller at 445cc though. There seems to be not much more to squeeze out. It's tiny improvements. More evolution that revolution.

Is anyone going to notice a 2% to 3% gain in MOI etc.? Rick Shiels did a test with a Ping driver from several years ago compared a newer model. He gained 3 yards. 😕

Good thing I kept my G400 SFT. Just got a reply from Ping from April 7th (today is the 22nd) about my G425 SFT (with the Orange Tensei) status. He said what Edwin Watts told me ~ 2-4 weeks.

Good thing I told Edwin Watts to tell Ping to send me the club either un-gripped or put any grip on because the GP MCC Plus 4 grips are back ordered till August. 😮 And it would not move to production until then.

All the MCC Plus 4's are sitting at the bottom of the ocean in a cargo container somewhere. lol

This driver is actually getting more poon! Holy Grail or really long honeymoon. I'm seriously thinking about getting one for Florida. If not, maybe a G400 Max or a G410,/425. I hit some drives today to spots on the fairway that I haven't seen in a few years.

I don't really see the 410 or the 425 being a huge improvement over the 400. Remember too, the adapter changed after the 400 series and you got an extra 1/2 degree of adjustability in either direction. I addition you got the moveable weights. I'm not a big moveable weight guy.

I'd stick with the 400 series.... but do you ever listen to me??🙃

Typhoon I did. The G30 is much better than the G400. Almost better than the SIM, unfortunately for my PP account.

My mileage varied. I've owned both and the G30 paled in comparison.

All of it. The G400 SFT is just better.

Never hit any other Ping driver than the G400. I wanted a Max, but not badly enough to spend the 💲. Gonna take a lot to convince me that I can do much better than the G400.

sdandrea1 I really want to try one of the newer iterations of the G LST, but it flat out works. Sound/feel is about the only box it does not check, but even that is fine. G30 on they all look about the same. I know there are some.subtle differences with the turbulators .... But the footprint seems similar. I have not had the 425 in my hands, but have held the g30, 400 max, 410plus, and my G LST.

One of the best. We had a G30 and found it 'clanky' sounding compared to later versions. YMMV

Golf_ghirl is getting great results with a 410 SFT, Alta CB55 shaft. It was lying around the pro shop when the new 425s landed so he let it go for £250 (£400 new). Her improvement is marked, her fade much less signifcant and her distance gains impressive.

I kidnapped it one night for a few holes and it's so easy to hit, and a fairway finder with a pretty little draw for me. Not any longer than my current setup (Cally Razr Fit Extreme with regular 65g Axiv shaft ). If I go after the 410 for more distance the pretty little draw can turn into a vicious hook, but with the right shaft for me ... STOP IT! He doesn't have any more in the pro shop.

Eguller I had that one too. It was their first ever Low spin model. It did sound clunky. Also there were complaints that spin was too low from it. I agree with that, I had it before my 2016 M2.

I've played the G30, G, and G400 all in the SFT model and they're all very good. Still have the G SFT with a UST Mamiya shaft and could put that in play and shoot the same scores.
