Last week I played 18 at a local muni. I birdied the 16th hole and followed that by getting a birdie at 17, as well. I normally shoot somewhere between 81 and 89, usually 84 to 85. I have had several rounds in the past few years in which I have had two birdies, but this is the first time in about a decade that I have managed to score them on consecutive holes.

Just curious.......others out there in double-digit handicap land, have you ever made back-to-back birdies? If so, how recently? How often?

Good work. I'm ~ a 9 capper right now and last week birdied hole #1 and #2. Then birdied #5. I have birdied back to back in rounds consecutively before. Most birdies in a round is 4 and have done that several times. Always fun when you do that.

No need to mention back to back double bogeys. 😎

On the other hand I've never had a hole in one. Took a 20 year absence (25-45), but still waiting for lightning to strike there.

    Congrats.

    i'm a 11.7 and recently had 3 in a row on front 9
Chipped in from fringe on 6
Put it on the green in two on 7 and 8 which are par 5's and made 2 putt birds .
Shot a 77 , my lowest round this season.

My best is 4 in a row which Ive done twice , at a local course and on front at Carolina shores in Myrtle , but had a bit lower cap for those.

I play about to 95 on sr tees when feeling good. Had an 86 on my BD this year that is best ever full round . I play a lot of nines nowdays, getting out weekly is most I've ever played . Back in my late 60s I had a round at Quail Ridge GC in Sanford , NC when I birdied 1, 3, 4. 1 is Short parr 4. 3 is 150 ish parr 3. 4 is medium length parr 5 required decent drive & 3 FW, & chip to get birdie chance.
I hope to have another day like that again but seem slipping away not toward it. Not sure my tenacity is going to win over this time but still enjoy every good swing I get anyway.
As a bogy hacker, parr is my birdie and even at that, they are hard to get back to back.

Several years ago I had a string of 5 birdies on the back nine. The course was a tough track with either OB or a hazard on every hole. The driver went south and I ended up with a 41 on the back nine.🙃

Just did it in Mon. league play at Coral Cyn. current hdcp 11.5
We started on the back nine on hole 16 a par 5 and I promptly recorded a nice smooth snowman.
Things didn't get much better on the back from there.
Some other guy shows up beginning on hole #1 & #2 as I birdied both those par 5's.
Actually had four birds on the front for a 35.
Finish/f-up the rest of the holes on the back for a 46! WTF

Two in a row and three out of four a few times when younger at the muni I played. 15, 16, and 18 are short par 4s, about 270, 300, 320. 15 was steeply uphill the last 70 yards or so, 16 and 18 were downhill. 17 was a tough, uphill 200+ yard par 3. Good tee shots in my teens went about 200 yards, if I kept them straight, I'd have a wedge into the greens. Where I play now most of the time, the two easiest holes in a row are 1 and 2, and it's tough to make that many good shots right out of the gate.

Usually shoot better at start if I warm up, then get sloppy on back 9 to ruin score. Did just opposite last Friday totally jacked front and my usual 11 over on back. Didn't break 100. @#$$!! Blame it on my equipment ? YEA!

My best is 3 in a row - par 5 and hit the green in 2 then 2 putted, par 3 with a 5 footer for a bird then hit the green on a driveable par 4 and 2 putted. The only reason I remember is that it was about a month ago so still fresh in my mind. I'm a low to mid 80's scorer and usually only get 1 maybe 2 birdies a round

Way to go on the back-to-back birdies! I average about 93 with an all time low round of 81. Used to shoot in the mid to upper 80's with some frequency, but really haven't played much golf in the last 10 years. I've done it twice, and both times involved a putt on one and chip-in on the other. I've never made two putts in a row for birdie. I once was a better iron player than my scores would reflect, so hitting greens in regulation was common. But I never practiced putting and was much more likely to three putt for bogie than to one putt for birdie.

    Nice work!

I haven’t kept a cap in a while, but I shoot 82-90 on any given day. Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for me to have back to back birdies amongst a round of 90. I’m a streak type guy, with the ability to score like hell and fall apart just as fast, so I don’t know if I’m a fair judge.

I had 3 in a row one time. It was a crazy day - I was making putts from insane distances and had a few chip ins. It resulted in my lifetime low score of 68. I was with a close friend and it was just a relaxing casual round. We both signed the card and saved it. Probably won't happen again!
