I don't think anyone here would wish death upon your family, or defend those that would.

I think we need to take a step back and realize that the people here on this forum, regardless of political affiliation or country affiliation, wouldn't take pleasure in seeing you or your family harmed in any way.

My faith in the quality of people who I would befriend in normal life, or a golf message board for that matter, goes a little beyond that.

I think people (here) can question your political beliefs without wishing harm upon you.

Otherwise I wouldn't be posting here.

I thought your post/s were intended to try and start things with members. Just my opn. Based on what you said 5 posts in, and after that thread was locked, then the next thread that you started was also looked. I have no issue with someone voicing there stance on those issues, but given the context and timing, IMO was not constructive.

I do not wish you any ill will, quite the opposite.....and look forward to chatting golf with you when and if that time comes.

If there is no correlation between other civilized counties laws and firearm deaths, I guess then that the only thing that can be deduced is we are inherently the most evil country in the civilized world. Because we stand out like a sore thumb. Could it be that they (other civilized countries) have it right and we have it so sorely wrong?

I'm still wondering why the Vegas thread was locked? He said something about personal attacks then locked it. I honestly only saw 1 personal attack and it was aimed at puttnfool, he never retaliated. Then his thread about his child was locked imediatly and this one's still open. I reckon I know which way the powers that be lean on this forum.

I tend to agree regarding locking threads, I'm never a fan. Let the A-holes show themselves to be what they are. Don't want to see it, don't read it. There were a few direct personal attacks that were deleted. The thread had run it's course, everyone got their say, time to move on.

My locking of threads has nothing to do with left, right, or sideways opinions. It has 100% to do with how you guys are treating each other on here (which is a golf forum BTW).

It was.locked.because it got political at puttnfools lead. Then he started a thread about his kids history presentation about the same topic.....yeah, he was just so proud of his kid he had to post it....like it wasn't intentional. C'mon, he's trolling. Is this seriously what you want this board to turn into? Steve posts a heartfelt thread about the victims and it turns into a sh1t show.

And that goes for threats aimed at puttnfools, no need for it. There is no p and r section here guys, that's not why I come here. Jeezus!

A very tragic event occurred and some took it as an advantage to support their political beliefs. While there's nothing wrong with that in principle, I do believe that we owe it to Justin to try to police our thoughts so he doesn't have to play babysitter here when discussions get heated and things deteriorate to petty bickering and personal attacks. And we owe that to Steve, who wanted to simply take a moment to remember the victims of what occurred over the weekend in what should've been a topic that united us all as human beings who care deeply about others.

Thanks. That was my intent, although I was not surprised when the politics came out. No trolling on my part - I was just expressing sorrow and frustration. In retrospect, this discussion got a little heated but was WAY better than the nonsense that used to go on in FGI. We're growing!
