I have the LG G4. Love the camera and the screen clarity. Battery life is not very good.
My take on Apple is they are adept at appealing to what younger people want, take full advantage of their proprietary ecosystem, and are genius at making things work simply, yet well, for people who are technically challenged.
A few years ago my daughter (in college at the time) ditched Apple for the Samsung Galaxy model of the day. She loved it at first but at some point her friends started group texting and her phone's default messaging app would not support it. She would receive the texts but her replies only went back to the sender, not the group. Deal killer. As soon as her phone was due for an upgrade she wanted to go back to Apple. Had I had known about the issue sooner, I could have found a different messaging app for her to download that supported group texts, but it never occurred to her. After putting up with her "deficiency" for months she was ready to bail. The HTC phone I had at the time did not support group texts, either, but it made no difference to this old guy.
FaceTime is another example. Those with iPhones just fire it up and go. Sure, there are apps that allow Android phones to do the same thing, but if your friends are mostly on iPhones they will have to take the extra step to install whatever app you are using. Nuisance. It's just easier with everyone on FaceTime.
