Let's be clear here... all of these smartphone companies basically use the same technologies. I could argue that Samsung paid Apple $500+ million for patent infringement back in 2015, but then one could argue that the same lawsuits have occurred against Apple over the years from other competitors.
It basically comes down to the integrated platform one prefers, and what is most practical to them based on their lifestyle and economics.
Although, I must say... I've yet to read reports of iPhones being barred from airline travel because their batteries have a history of catching fire/exploding.
Nevertheless... it's all about personal preference beyond whatever safety concerns one has. You might have one model with a better camera than another, or perhaps some type of newfangled security technology with face recognition, or whatever...
For everyday use - there's not much difference in performance between any of the leading companies. It just more or less comes down to which company one trusts... one that they've had a good history with.
A greater discussion might be which wireless network offers the most reliable service... but then again that is more geographics based than anything else.
Enjoy your Samsung Galaxy S6, because it basically mirrors the same technology of the iPhone that I prefer. 🙂
