So, I picked up a few older Ping clubs today at an estate sale. I got two RH putters, two LH putters, a Ping Eye 1 iron, and two wedges, a Karsten W and an Eye2 S.
They're all in pretty rough shape. Grips would need to be replaced to even contemplate playing them. The shafts are all less than perfect. One might be worth saving, but most would need replaced.
The iron heads look ok... maybe a 7/10. The putter heads are a little rougher. Maybe it's just the age and maybe they can be "buffed out" to look better, but I'm not sure. The faces didn't look too bad so I don't think it'd really affect playability.
Is anyone here a Ping "expert" that can tell me what, if anything, they might be worth? I know, I know, they're only worth what I can sell them for.
I just don't know, am I going to hurt them more than help them by reshafting them? I might look for replacement Ping grips, but don't wanna pull shafts if that's gonna hurt the value.
Anyone?
