I've now spent almost a month with the M2/Project X HZRDUS Yellow Handcrafted shaft now. Like a lot of us here, we tinker as a hobby thinking the next build will be " the one". I resigned myself to the fact that age 56, 135 lbs and 5'6"...300 yards with a normal length driver is as good as I'll ever do. G30, Rbz....different shafts...everything went the same.
Figured what the hell, went to Ace of Clubs to get fit. A guy who does fittings and builds for a living.
Funny thing was when he had me hitting in his studio everything was to the right...and I never go right. Also distance and speed was way down. It was like that for my Ping G30 that I brought as well as everything he had me hit. I was a little concerned...but I just let him do his thing. I mentioned the direction thing and all he said was don't worry about it.
So the combo I mentioned worked best, even though looking at the screen it seemed off.
Fast forward to now. I had been hitting the M1 /tour ad di6 that I swapped the Ping for. Hit it well, better than the Ping.
I finally tried the fitted driver...Holy Crap.
First off, everything is a tight draw or straight...nothing to the right. Finally hitting balls past where my drives usually are and not by 5 yards either...more like looking for my ball and it's 30 yards ahead of where I'm looking. I'm still amazed...normal length driver, 315, 325, 330.
Seriously...never thought it could happen. Never thought someone actually does this for a living. Kudos to people like Frank at Ace of Clubs.
