First for me (birdied #1 and #2 handicap holes in same round).

Birdied the # 1 and # 2 handicap holes on my home course yesterday. Had one other birdie for a nice round of 80 (but had 4 doubles 🙁 ).

Most birdies in a round for me is 5. My buddy who's the same level golfer as me has 7 in a round (~ 11 cappers), but has never birdied #3 and #14 (number 1 and 2 handicap) in the same round before.

The best golfer in our quota group (~ 6 capper) has had 10 birdies in a round, but have yet to ask him if he ever birdied the number 1 and 2 handicap holes in the same round.

Anyway, probably not that great of a feat for many, but for me it was.

Hole number 3 (#1 handicap) is a 368 yard par 4 with a red stake hazard on the left and out of bounds on the right. Smoked a drive down the left side and had 137 into the middle of the green (uphill). Hit an 8 iron ~ 10 feet past the hole and made the putt.

Hole number 14 (#2 handicap) is 376 yards and relatively flat, but plays longer because the wind is usually against you. Hit a nice drive and had 179 to the middle of the green and hit a 5 wood pin high and sank the 20 foot putt. Kind of dropped kicked the 5 wood, but it worked out nicely.

Weird day with some decent driving (but with 4 drives that cost me) and ball striking was great on some holes an horrible on others. Pitching, chipping and putting were stellar.

Nice playing, always nice to get a natural bird on a stroke hole!

The #1 and #2 handicap holes at my club really aren't the two toughest holes on the layout imo... but they play longish for the average player and they have water hazards in play as well, so I kinda understand. I personally think our 10th hole (400 yard par4 with a very narrow landing area and a lake literally only 5 paces from the right edge of the fairway) is much more difficult than hole 11 (the #2 handicap hole). Our 10th hole is ranked the 8th toughest, which really boggles my mind. I would personally rank that hole as probably the 3rd or 4th toughest.

But... the club did the handicapping by-the-book so it is what it is. All I know is that I've yet to walk off of that 10th green with par and not feel completely satisfied.
