Talked to Ping. Sending my G25 head to them for refinishing. I will keep all informed about price, time, quality, etc.
Their website has a link on the bottom about repairs.
Head arrived at Ping on 07/20. They called me on 07/21. They cannot refinish the sole (black anodized??) but they can refinish the crown. $85 including shipping and will take 15 days. I am having it done. Will keep all updated.
Received the refinished G25 driver head today. As I said earlier, they cannot refinish the sole as it is some sort of black oxide?? finish. They did seem to be able to clean/buff it up some so it is not as bad as it was. The prior owner seemed to scrape the rear sole edge. This says it was a swing issue, not a club issue. Otherwise how does one scrape the sole with a driver? And after all, I do not see the sole at address. I am very satisfied with the refinish.
It came back shrink wrapped and as it is a backup head, I do not intend to unwrap it until needed. Thus any pics would not look good. I can assure you the crown is perfect.
I do wonder if another refinishing place like Continental Golf can refinish a black oxide sole?

Sorry man, without pics, it just plain did not happen. 😉
seems a bit pricey considering a whole G25 can be bought for around $100
but if you like the one you have , why not
I have always advocated if you like what you tried, such as a demo club, then buy it versus order another so this is why I had the head refinished.
I now have two G25 drivers. I like a backup...LOL
Continental Golf (Raleigh, NC) does great work. I had a GBB head redone and it was spectacular
for about $60 on a special. It has held up great over this entire year with no blems - check them out.
I prefer to do my own. Fun hobby and I am getting better.😎
