Par4QC Shit.....come up here and play a round with Jake!! Bubba would be hard pressed to keep up with his teeshots! I hit from the Sr. & he hits from the tips.....still gets me by 60-100. Lil bastage.

They may get ya off the tee, but I'm thinking you'll have the last laugh at round's end.

I hear ya. My 18 year old granddaughter just graduated from HS and is headed to college on a golf scholarship. She played in an event last week and won the girls long drive at 276. These youngsters are amazing.

And even with the driver crap I am holding my own with my buds.

Well, no driver issues for a couple of weeks. I tripped over something in the dark this morning and went down hard on the carpet over concrete floor. I hit hard on my left knee and carpet burned all the skin off of my knee cap. Trip to ER and x-ray showed nothing broken or dislocated but severe bruising and swelling. Looks like no golf for a few weeks. Maybe I will forget what I was doing wrong with my driver.

BTW, just wondering if you've sent a video of your driver swing in to Brandell? From what I'm hearing from him lately, he could very well have the fix for that problem. He could fix anybody, as he sees it.

Things are going better than expected. I have kept ice on it all day and elevated and the swelling has almost disappeared as has the pain. Will have to see how it feels in the morning.

I hope your issue goes well.

Rickochet Realizing I probably type a lot younger than I am, so I'll remind you that you only got a couple years on me. At your height, when taking a spill, it's probably like falling off a ledge before your knees hit the ground. For me it's like 2", so it doesn't really hurt much.

Well, good news this morning. No visible bruising, swelling almost gone and no pain. I am really surprised and pleased. I guess icing it all day was a big help.

I now have a nightlight in the family room so I can see stuff on the floor at night.

Par4QC I'd just use 1 of those Pinhawk clubs off the tee, if you are hitting them well otherwise.

Plan B. I noticed yesterday the DTG has their own line of SL woods including a driver at the same weight as the Pinhawk fairways. I have a 14° arriving tomorrow and will mate it wth a Harrison Mugen I was using in a 4 wood head of the same weight. Film at 11... 🤞

This is something I saw on YouTube years ago-take your normal address with the driver, then pull it back 4-6" from the ball. Find a spot on the ground directly in front of the driver and focus on that the entire swing, not the ball. Within a few swings you'll be hitting them straight and long. Just take nice, easy swings, don't attack. Add more speed as you begin to trust it and get more comfortable with it. Don't laugh, it works.

Well, I got out and played today. No issues with the bruised knee. And for the first time this season no back issues and I was able to swing though the ball. What a difference. I hit the old Wishon 419thi straight and pretty good distance. Not one top. Shot a decent round of 78. I think now as Par4 mentioned earlier, the back was forcing me into a handsy swing. Will now get the Ping back out and start working with it. Thanks everyone for your input.

Glad you are back to normal, for the first time in my life, my back has been a problem and it has made golf all but impossible. I figured out the woods, but I can't stay down on an iron unless I try feeling like I'm trying to hit it fat and even then I'm pulling back in so I hit it on the Toe a lot. Injuries make the game harder than it already is, it's not fair.

I'm there now too. Drove 12 hours on Sunday to get here and my back is really locked up. My game right now is driver off the tee, advance the ball toward the green (worm burner) with anything (hybrid, FW metal, putter), wedge it on and hope for a good putt. My wedge shots are feet close together, weight on front and 3/4 swing.
Irons are almost out of play.

What choo talkin' bout Willis? No self respecting ho misses an opportunity to order a new club. I received today a new head from DTG, the single length driver head. I also ordered another shaft for my Ping G.

Not a dumb question at all. Info sharing is what this forum is all about. My SL irons are 8 iron head weight but I play them at 39.5". I recently picked up some Pinhawk SL fairway wood heads that are 220g and I am playing them at 43.5" and hitting them well. While this thread was brewing I discovered that Diamondtour had a SL Driver head. It is 14° 460cc, 219g and will be mated with a Harrison Mugen that I had in a fairway head of the same weight that I hit well at 44".

Your wedges are that long too?
Don't think I'd adapt to that length in short irons wedges easily.

The woods length make sense to me although my driver wt was 208g
I tried some lead tape but took off all but 5 g on bottom back center trying to increase launch angle . 15 g Heavyweight lead made me have to swing too hard but age strength is a factor for me and I only cut shaft down to 45". maybe shorter would have worked

My non SL irons are always 2" over standard length with 38" wedges. That is what is comfortable for me. I think the SL's are actually 38.5" not 39.5. There are several threads on this forum about single length irons.
